POSITION:                                                JR. SERVER

SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE:                                       
An entry-level developmental position to Food and Beverage.  To provide support to existing service staff and to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and to assist all serving staff where needed.
                                                                            
RESPONSIBILITIES:                                               

  • Ensuring cleanliness of the dining room, including vacuuming
  • Resetting and bussing tables & service stations                                         
  • Working closely with servers & bartenders                                   
  • Running food items to the servers stations                   
  • Setting, restocking and tear down of buffets
  • Assisting in all meal period buffet and plated service
  • Greeting and seating guests
  • Pouring of juices, coffee and alcoholic beverages

POSITION:                                        CAPTAIN SERVER
DEPARTMENT:                                In Room Dining
STATUS OF POSITION:                   Permanent
                                                                           
RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                

  • Reports directly to the In Room Dining & Assistant In Room Dining Manager
  • Responsible, when scheduled, for the direct supervision of the Lodges' In Room Dining department in conjunction with the Manager & Assistant Manager
  • Building and maintaining a high level of customer service and staff morale through outlet promotions and staff incentive programs
  • Taking an active role in assisting the outlet trainer with the training and development of new and existing staff in accordance with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and outlet standards
  • Ensure that Fairmont Hotels and Resorts core standards and Jasper Park Lodges service standards are maintained and followed at all times
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety within the In Room Dining in accordance with health regulations and Jasper Park Lodge’s health and safety responsibilities
  • Ensure that the outlet is operating within the confines of the ALCB regulations
  • Help the Managers develop action plans to improve outlet performance
  • Become an active member of a Jasper Park Lodge committee
  • Through management coaching, be able to analyze and understand financial documents in attempts to maximize outlet performance

                                                  
QUALIFICATIONS:                                                  

  • Minimum two years' experience in a full scale restaurant or In Room Dining including 6 months supervisory experience
  • Beverage operation experience an asset
  • Knowledge of MS applications and Lotus an asset
  • Must be responsible and reliable
  • Excellent organizational & leadership skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Meet the minimum expectations of the Gallup Front of House Perceiver Interview

SCOPE AND GENERAL PURPOSE: 
To acknowledge and greet guests immediately upon arrival to the Restaurant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                

  • Greet and escort guests to their table
  • Coordinate the whole dining room
  • Organizing reservations on a daily basis by using RSVip
  • Work closely with servers and buspersons providing assistance as required

RESPONSIBILITIES:                                    

  • Providing helpful, efficient retail services in accordance with Fairmont Hotel and Resorts, Jasper Park Lodges standards
  • Accountable for all sales and revenues and reporting a daily inventory
  • Ensure that Fairmont Hotels and Resorts core standards and Jasper Park Lodges service standards are maintained and followed at all times
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety at all times
  • Ensure that the outlet is operating within the confines of the ALCB regulations
  • Preparation of speciality coffee and service of items “to go”
  • Selling merchandise
  • Attractively displaying merchandise
  • Handle cash transactions

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous Food & Beverage and/or retail experience required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Carry out beverage service as per Fairmont Hotels & Resorts standards
  • Ensure that only a quality beverage product is being served
  • To provide professional and efficient food & beverage service
  • To process guest checks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment
  • To bus and reset tables as required        
  • To ensure cleanliness of bar                                  
  • To do daily inventory reporting and other administrative skills as required  
  • Greeting and welcoming guests to the outlet and to thank them for their patronage

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of bartending course is an asset
  • Food and Beverage training is an asset
  • Prior bartending experience is an asset

POSITION:                                        Captain Server
Status of Position:                          Permanent

Reporting to the Managers, the Captain Server will be responsible for the day-to-day support of the Department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the banquet managers in their functions
  • Lead a team of servers
  • To co-ordinate, organize, help and give proper assistance to servers
  • Ensure that all aspects of the dining room/banquet facilities are ready
  • Ensure all food stations, both in back and front of the house are set and maintained properly
  • Work safely and display safe work habits at all times
  • Maximize productivity and efficiency of service staff
  • To serve on the floor when required
  • Work directly with Managers to ensure all areas are set and ready prior to service
  • Assist in the continuous maintenance of the training manual for the service staff and its requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Food & Beverage service experience required
  • Excellent organizational & leadership skills
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Must possess a Valid Alberta Drivers License**

ENVIRONMENT RESPONSIBILITES:

  • To ensure all recyclable materials are properly sorted and taken to appropriate designated recycling areas.  This will include bottles, cans, paper, cardboard, plastics and compost.
  • Responsible for turning off all room lights after functions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

POSITIONS:                          CASHIER
DEPARTMENT:                     Staff Cafeteria
STATUS OF POSITION:        Permanent

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Report Directly to Chief Steward/Assistant Chief Steward
  • Responsible for daily float and remittance.
  • Work closely with stewarding attendants to ensure Staff Cafeteria is clean at all times
  • Cleanliness and organization of stewarding area, kitchens and Staff Cafeteria sections
  • Maintain cleanliness of all wares/cutlery of hotel
  • To ensure plates, cups, glasses, silverware, pots & all cooking utensils are cleaned using the appropriate machinery
  • Removal of garbage/compost from kitchen
  • Supplying equipment requirements for kitchen and outlets
  • Assistance with Inventory and analysis, breakage control
  • Responsible for daily internal requisition of wares, paper products, .etc

QUALIFICATIONS:                                                 

  • Good physical condition
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Able to work in fast paced environment
  • Knowledge of Stewarding an asset
  • Must have experience using Micros POS system
  • Previous cash handling experience necessary

ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Ensure that garbage/compost is kept separate
  • Ensure boxes are brought to proper recycling bins
  • Ensure that the water in the dishwashing machine is changed regularly and as scheduled to ensure that proper dosages of chemicals are dispensed into machines
  • Ensure that water is shut off when not in use

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing: 6-8 hr/day; sitting: 0-1 hr/day; walking: 6-8 hr/day; bending/reaching: 2-3 hr/day; pushing/pulling: 2-3 hr/day; physical effort: high - does not lift more than 70 lbs; visual effort: medium – must have attention to detail in regards to the cleanliness of the staff cafeteria; environmental stress: high - hot, loud, work with chemicals and hot water occasionally, must be willing to get hands dirty, very busy environment.
