POSITION: PLAYERS ASSISTANT

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Director of Golf the Players Assistant will be responsible for:
- Meeting and exceeding guest’s expectations of Canada’s #1 Golf Resort
- To monitor the pace of play on the golf course
- In a positive and friendly manner introduce yourself as the Player Assistant for the day
- Help players locate wayward golf balls
- Cleanliness of the golf course
- Check water coolers and cups
- Repair all ropes and stakes used for cart direction
- Carts are to be kept on the paths on all Par 3’s
- Ensure the Starter’s Clocks are properly set on each of the water coolers
- All radio communication must be delivered in a professional manner
- In the event of an accident or medical emergency the Player Assistant must inform the Golf Shop
- Elk Problems. Move elk into areas where they will not have direct encounters with golfers
- Report any course problems such as course damage, leaky sprinklers, missing tee markers or any other general maintenance that might be required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be knowledgeable about the game of golf (understands concept of speed of play, appropriate etiquette and acceptable behaviour on a golf course)
- Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
- Must have exceptional communication skills
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be able to handle confrontation comfortably
- Must be mature, reliable and outgoing
- Must be capable of performing minor maintenance on course (hammering in stakes, moving ropes, etc)
- Must enjoy working outdoors and in all weather conditions
- All cart drivers must have a Valid Alberta Drivers License**
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Candidates should be fit enough to be in and out of a golf cart for a shift duration of up to eight hours
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Removing litter and cigarette butts from golf course
- Ensure all recyclable containers get placed in their appropriate receptacles
- Ensure the safe interaction of guest and wildlife encounters on the golf course (ie. Elk, bears, etc.)

POSITION: GROUNDS LABORER
DEPARTMENT: Grounds
STATUS: Seasonal
SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE:
Maintain the golf course & property landscape to world-class standards. To provide interior plants & decorations for guest facilities. Maintain the properties’ paths, roads, trails, decks, signs and etc. ensuring public and staff safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining flower beds, landscape plantings indoor & out
- Mowing, trimming, watering all turf areas on the resort
- Preparation of landscape areas for repair or construction
- Cleaning of the property - litter, animal waste, recycling, hazard trees and yard debris
- Planting, fertilizer and pesticide usage on a periodic basis
- Treatment of non-native plants and nuisance grasses with herbicide
- Operation of power tools and equipment while using proper personal protective equipment
- Day to day maintenance of the golf course and property
- Cleaning of building exteriors and special capital improvement projects
- Maintenance of skating rinks and cross-country ski trails during the winter
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Individuals who have a desire to excel in the landscape and golf business
- Ability to work safely and ensure co-workers are working safely
- Trustworthy, reliable, responsible and dependable
- Must be in good physical condition
- Must be self motivated and able to work independently
- CPR and First Aid are assets
- Must possess a Valid Alberta Drivers License**
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Walking 5-10 km per shift; lifting, bending and pushing throughout an 8-hour shift; Strength and agility to work and operate equipment safely so as not to harm others or the environment.

POSITION: GOLFER SERVICES ATTENDANT

SCOPE & GENERAL PURPOSE:
- The Golfer Services colleague will provide prompt, friendly service for our members and guests. Duties/responsibilities for Golfer Services are as follows:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet members and guests prior to and after golf
- Accurately anticipate and communicate guests needs with other departments through radio headsets
- Assist in the organization and set up of golf tournaments under the direction of the front shop
- Keep entire front area clean from the club drop area to the back gate (including putting green)
- Clean clubs for all guests and members
- Be responsible for the rental of clubs and their return
- Be responsible for the rental of golf carts and their return
- General cleanliness and maintenance of golf carts
- Monitor damage to both golf carts and rental clubs (take appropriate action if necessary)
- Dispense range balls to members and guests
- Keep driving range area clean and organized
- Help set up and tear down of golf clinics
- Handle customer comments/complaints
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Golf knowledge preferred but not mandatory
- Must have exceptional communication skills
- Must be a team player
- Must enjoy working a variety of shifts
- Must be physically fit & enjoy working outdoors

POSITION: CASHIER (BEVERAGE CART)
DEPARTMENT: 1st Cup
STATUS OF POSITION: Seasonal
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for food and beverage service on the golf course
- To respect the golf ethic rules as outlined by the Golf Course Manager
- To provide helpful, efficient Food & Beverage service in accordance with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Jasper Park Lodges standard
- Will be accountable for all sales and revenues of food & beverage and will provide the Clubhouse Manager with an opening and closing inventory
- Must drive the beverage cart in a safe and responsible manner, as outlined by the vehicle policy
- Must keep and maintain the beverage cart in an impeccable appearance
- Must keep the beverage cart on the golf course, not driving in staff or other areas that are not pertinent to the functions of the beverage cart
- May be required to provide Deli service (1st Cup Deli)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Food and beverage experience
- Good command of the English language
- Excellent organizational and verbal communication skills
- Be able to work well under pressure and in a fast paced environment

- To maintain a clear and clean area both inside the 1st Cup and on the patio BBQ
- To balance cash at the end of each shift
- May be required to provide on course service (beverage cart)
- Responsible for making sandwiches and cocktails for the deli on a daily basis
- Provide a daily inventory on food & beverage

POSITION: CAPTAIN SERVER
DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage Golf Course
STATUS OF POSITION: Seasonal
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting directly to the Golf Clubhouse Manager, the Captain Servers will oversee the day to day operation of the First Cup Deli as well as being responsible for the Golf Course service beverage cart and the 7th Tee hut.
- Building and maintaining a high level of customer service and staff morale through outlet promotions and staff incentive programs
- Taking an active role in assisting the supervisor with the training and development of new and existing staff in accordance with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and outlet standards
- Ensure that Fairmont Hotels and Resorts core standards and Jasper Park Lodges service standards are maintained and followed at all times
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety within the Food & Beverage areas of the Golf Course in accordance with health regulations and Jasper Park Lodge’s health and safety responsibilities
- Ensure that the outlet is operating within the confines of the ALCB regulations
- Ensure that scheduling, payroll, banquet billing, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts service standards and inventory levels are all carefully maintained
- Ensure a perfect inventory control of the Food & Beverage sales
- Help the Managers develop action plans to improve outlet performance
- Become an active member of a Jasper Park Lodge committee
- Through management coaching, be able to analyze and understand financial documents in attempts to maximize outlet performance
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous Food & Beverage supervisory experience required
- Post secondary education in Hotel/Restaurant Management an asset
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills required
- Must be self motivated, flexible and able to work various shifts
- Completion of Train The Trainer, Interaction Management, & Occupational Certification in Server/Maitre d’ an asset
- Current First Aid Certificate an asset

- To professionally greet guests upon arrival and welcome them to the outlet
- To provide helpful, efficient Food & Beverage service in accordance with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts, Jasper Park Lodges standard
- To provide salesmanship of the 1st Cup menu and beverages in a positive, professional manner
- To process guest checks in a timely and efficient manner
- To bus and reset tables, set up the 1st Cup BBQ Patio as required
- To report any irregularities or comments from our guests
- Ensure that a clean, tidy and safe work environment is maintained at all times
- May be required to provide on course service (beverage cart)

POSITION: FRONT SHOP/STARTER

SCOPE
- The Front Shop colleague will provide prompt, friendly service for our members and guests. Responsibilities for the Front Shop, at minimum, are as follows:
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Take tee-times for all members and guests via phone and in person.
- Check guests in for green fees, carts, range, etc.
- Update Starter on any changes to the tee sheet.
- Communicate guest requests for other departments via radio head set.
- Attractively display merchandise as well as change displays on a regular basis.
- Pro-actively sell merchandise and services.
- Effectively handle all cash transactions including close out procedures.
- Re-stock, fold and tidy golf shop (including locker rooms) on an ongoing basis.
- Responsible for inventory control (receiving, monitoring and ordering of stock) to help maximize revenue opportunities.
- Control rental and demo club requests.
- Handle customer comments/complaints.
- Provide general information to members regarding men’s and ladies nights.
- Cover the Rocky Mountain Golf Shop, Golfer Services, Starters and Players Assistant’s when necessary.
In addition to the above responsibilities you will be required to fulfill shifts as a Starter on a regular basis. Duties/responsibilities include:
- Greeting members and guests on arrival.
- Directing “traffic” to appropriate areas (Golf Shop or Golfer Services).
- Monitor payment of green fees and services for both members and guests.
- Announce over P.A. what members/guests are required at the first tee.
- Cross reference and record golf cart numbers to players teeing off.
- Record and monitor pace of play.
- Communicate necessary information to guests regarding their round on first tee.
- Disseminate first tee amenity package including scorecards and course guides.
- Ensure first tee and front area are kept clean and free of any litter.
