POSITION: WASHPERSON
DEPARTMENT: Laundry
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Separating and washing all laundry
- Picking up and delivering all linen in all Food & Beverage outlets and Housekeeping areas
- Ensuring all contract linen is picked up and delivered to the correct hotels according to schedule
- Ensuring cleanliness of the laundry department at all times
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Well organized
- Excellent physical condition
- Able to work without supervision
- Able to work in a fast paced environment
- Self motivated
- WHMIS knowledge an asset
- Must possess a Valid Alberta Drivers License**
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Making sure that chemicals that are friendly to the environment are being used & not using more chemicals than specified
- Ensuring that washers are fully loaded to make sure that water is not being wasted and shutting off dryers when not in use
- Washing out empty chemical barrels for recycling
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sitting: 0-1 hr/day; walking: 6-7 hr/day; standing: 6-7 hr/day; bending/reaching: 3-4 hr/day; pushing/pulling: 3-4 hr/day; lifting: 3-4 hr/day; physical effort: does not lift weights over 80 lbs; environmental stress: high - noisy environment, hot/cold conditions

POSITION: VALET ATTENDANT
DEPARTMENT: Laundry/Valet
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assisting Laundry Manager and Drycleaner to ensure all duties are completed on time
- Liasing with the staff linen department to ensure quality and quantity of uniforms is being met
- Ironing and pressing all uniforms and guests clothes
- Attending communication meetings
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be in good physical condition
- Well organized and able to work under pressure
- Good communication skills
- Able to work well with others
- Knowledge of materials and chemicals, WHMIS an asset
- Must be reliable and responsible
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Recycle all hangers
- Saving energy by ensuring that machines are turned off when not in use
- Reuse excess string from the tying machines
- Reusing guiding tape for the ironer
- Recycle pop cans
- Reuse pant guards if still in good shape
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Sitting: 0-1 hr/day; walking: 4-6 hr/day; standing: 6-7 hr/day; bending/reaching: 2-4 hr/day; pushing/pulling: 2-4 hr/day; physical effort: does not lift weights over 50 lbs, constant repetitive motion; environmental stress: high - works in hot/cold conditions; medium noise level
POSITION: PORTER
DEPARTMENT: Laundry
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Pick-up and delivery of JPL linens, staff uniforms and town contracts linen at scheduled times
- Keep the porter vehicles clean
- Keeping Housekeeping linen closets fully stocked at all times
- Stretching for 10 minutes at start of shift.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
- Feeding linen and laundry into folding machine
- Folding and attaching sheets and towels into bundles
- Sorting laundry
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good knowledge of JPL property, roads, linen closets and F&B outlets
- Flexibility with different shifts/hours
- Must be in excellent physical condition
- Able to work without supervision
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
- Responsible and reliable
- Must possess a valid Alberta drivers license**
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To ensure that all hangers are recycled
- When leaving the vehicle making sure that it is shut off to save on gas emissions
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Walking: 6-8 hrs/day; Standing: 0-1 hr/day; Bending/Reaching: 6-8 hrs/day; Pushing/Pulling: 1-2 hrs/day; Physical Effort: Will be lifting heavy linen bags between 50-80 lbs; Environmental Stress: High-constantly going in and out of buildings.

POSITION: LAUNDRY ATTENDANT
DEPARTMENT: Laundry
STATUS OF POSITION: Permanent
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Feeding linen and laundry into folding machine
- Folding and attaching sheets and towels into bundles
- Sorting laundry
- Providing the Housekeeping and Food & Beverage departments with clean linen
- Keeping work area clean
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self motivated
- Able to work under pressure
- Able to work without supervision
- A valid Alberta drivers license an asset
- Good physical condition
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Recycle all hangers
