POSITION: STEWARD SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT: Stewarding
STATUS OF POSITION: Permanent
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports directly to Chief Steward
- Full responsibility of department in absence of Chief Steward and Assistant Chief Steward
- Carrying out instructions of the Chief Steward
- To create an environment of trust and respect through training and consistent communication
- Assigning colleagues their duties on a day to day basis
- Delegating workload at floor level and ensuring that all Stewarding colleagues have been assigned tasks
- Responsible for opening and closing shift
- Ensure loss and breakage of china, glassware and silverware is kept to a minimum
- Ensure cleanliness standards are maintained; including dish machines, all kitchen areas, all tableware
- Ensure that all equipment in the kitchens and dishwashing areas are clean and in good working condition and report any deficiencies
- Ensuring safety programs are in place and all safety standards are enforced with regards to proper usage of chemicals under WHMIS, proper moving of equipment, proper footwear and proper back care procedures for stewarding colleagues
- Ensure any accident within the department, no matter how small, is documented on a Workers Compensation Board form and forwarded to Human Resources
- Adherence to grooming policy and other hotel procedures and standards
- Promote good relationships with other internal departments
- To provide fast efficient guest service and respond quickly to customer requests
- Training and development of staff as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have at least 3 months experience in the Stewarding Department
- Previous experience in a supervisory capacity within the hospitality industry a definite asset
- Must be responsible and reliable
- Excellent organizational skills including ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent knowledge of dishwashing machines
- Mechanically inclined an asset
- Excellent physical condition
- Must have completed WHMIS training
- Must be highly Health & Safety conscious
- Familiar with safety equipment & procedures
- Must possess a Valid Alberta Drivers License**
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensure that machines are regularly checked to ensure that schedule is followed
- Ensure that garbage and compost are separated
- Ensure that Sternos are reused for chaffing dishes and hot boxes to reduce waste
- Ensure that proper amounts of chemicals are being used to avoid waste
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing: 6-8 hr/day; sitting: 2-4 hr/day; walking: 6-8 hr/day; bending/reaching: 6-8 hr/day; pushing/pulling: 6-8 hr/day; physical effort: high - does not lift more than 70 lbs; visual effort: some computer work; environmental stress: high - loud, hot, work with chemicals, must be willing to get hands dirty.

POSITIONS: STEWARD HELPER
DEPARTMENT: Stewarding
STATUS OF POSITION: Permanent
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintaining cleanliness of all wares/cutlery of hotel
- Ensuring plates, cups, glasses, silverware, pots & all cooking utensils are cleaned using the appropriate machinery
- Removing garbage and compost from kitchen
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of stewarding area and kitchens
- Supplying equipment requirements for kitchen and outlets
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good physical condition
- Strong organizational skills
- Able to work in fast paced environment
- Knowledge of Stewarding an asset
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensure that garbage/compost is kept separate
- Ensure boxes are brought to proper recycling bins
- Ensure that the water in the dishwashing machine is changed regularly and as scheduled to ensure that proper dosages of chemicals are dispensed into machines
- Ensure that water is shut off when not in use

POSITION: NIGHT CLEANER SUPERVISOR
DEPARTMENT: Night Cleaning (Stewarding)
STATUS OF POSITION: Permanent
HOURS OF WORK: 10:00pm – 6:30am
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports directly to Chief Steward/ Executive Chef/ Executive Sous Chef
- Ensures cleanliness of kitchens and equipment is maintained to acceptable standards (This includes floors (mopping & sweeping), ovens, grills and ventilation hoods daily, and special assignments as required)
- Determines and delegates work assignments for night cleaners
- Monitors payroll costs for the night cleaning department & schedules hours of work accordingly
- Is held accountable through inspections and daily checklist of duties
- Ensures that all use of products and chemicals is done in a safe manner and that the staff receive the proper training for their handling
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must possess excellent organizational skills
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently
- Must be able to work night shift
- Previous supervisory or night cleaning experience is preferred
- Completion of supervisors handbook, interaction management & train the trainer an asset
- First Aid and STOP training is an asset
- Must possess a Valid Alberta Drivers License**

POSITION: NIGHT CLEANER
DEPARTMENT: Night Cleaning (Stewarding)
STATUS OF POSITION: Permanent
HOURS OF WORK: 10:00 pm to 6:30 am
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all hotel kitchens including the Clubhouse and all equipment including stoves, ovens, grills, hoods and floors
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Dependable, reliable and responsible as most of the time you are working along
- Self motivated
- Must be in good physical condition
- Must be able to work night shift
- Must be detail-orientated
- Be able to prioritize
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Good knowledge of cleaning equipment an asset
- WHMIS training an asset
- Must possess a Valid Alberta Drivers Licence**
