Paid Parking 2021 (Summer Only)
With all the sidewalk patios in place, the parking is shrinking in Jasper. In reality, you do not need to use your vehicle in Jasper anyhow. You can walk end to end within half an hour.
Only the downtown core is paid parking on the streets, but the parking lots are still free and no time limit except, no overnight parking.
Download the Hotspot Parking app or no apps needed, tap or scan using the QR code will bring you towards the payment site for the paid parking. But, you might run into this BS (see error photo), if you do not setup your phone for tap payment, you will wonder if this is worth it! And what if you don’t own a phone or have wifi access because you are visiting from abroad? You have to leave your car that is parked and find the administration building (and where is the administration building anyways?) and pay cash which in that time my get written up?
If you want to save yourself some hassle on the paid parking, just use the local taxis and save yourself some headaches trying to find parking. Or just walk from your accommodation and get some excercise.
