Local Ski Hill 20 minutes from town

I defintely feel blessed living so close to a ski hill. Marmot Basin usually has nice dry snow on the Eastern side of the Canadian Rockies giving us some fine powder skiing when we get a dump. On most days, there is hardly any waiting time to load on chairs. With the 6 lifts accessing a wide terrain, it really moves people fast.

New for 2021-2022 season, Marmot Basin has implemented the RFID system for their passes. I highly recommend anyone coming for the first time, to try and get the pass in their town office ahead of time. There will be delays on the hill as they are still working out the bugs. Another note on this system is that you should have your pass on the left side of jacket without phones or other RFID cards or key fobs. I have already seen some hiccups there. The system at the lift need less than foot away to recieve the signal and if you are a little person under three foot, you might have to hop up to trigger the signal.

Another note is if you intend to use any of their indoor facilities, you will have to produce Vaccine info and ID, this is a proccess and has to done once every visit thanks to Covid protocols, my suggestion is if they can intergrate it into the RFID pass, that would streamline this proccess.
